Nows

There will shortly be lots of nows posted here for you to feel out, listen, and see. We are currently living it, and will relay the details of it soon. We might even treat you to a year's worth of back-blog in a high-speed-dubbing voice. Can't wait.

Like Dancing about Day-chitecture

Frank said it first. Or was it Dave? Daychitecture. Design your day! Don't be a chump.
Back in December, Dan Goldman and I played some improvised music at a contact improvisation dance class in Toronto. I did a little banging on the radiator, bell ringing, and crazy-time vocals, and dan played some guitar and piano. The facilitator, Kathleen Rea of REAson d'etre productions, decided that she wanted us to be the live musicians for her upcoming dance piece set to open in July of 2008.
She ended up choreographing the piece to the entirety of the new Snowblink record, Long Live, as well as several of Dan's songs from his forthcoming record, Luxury Pond
It is a tribute to antlers, friendly apparitions, and loss, loss, loss.
Most importantly, however, you will get to see me in a headset microphone and a wireless guitar.

Hope to see you there!

silver medal bloggist

When the events in which I participate also include Dave Wilson, one thing is for sure: he will beat me to blogging about it.
So with utter reverence, I will pass the blog-baton to him for two recent occasions. All the photos are by the illustrious Hannah Barr-DiChiara or possibly the also-illustrious Dave Wilson.

1. Opening for Rogue Wave at the Fillmore on May 3rd.

2. The Bay Area Snowblink CD Release Party at Woulds Gallery in Oakland on April 26th.

RELEASE(S)

Dears,

In drafting my band pep chat email about our forthcoming san francisco album release, I came up with some words/phrases for the type of darts that I intend to throw at the dartboard of this most beaming of events (the release of our 2008 album LONG LIVE): I thesaurused "exuberance" and thankfully found 1. ADRENALIZED and 2. FULL OF BEANS.
With this frippery in mind I invite you to both the Bay Area and Los Angeles release of LONG LIVE.

This Friday in LOS ANGELES I (show-lo) will join Viking Moses and Golden Ghost, and it is not one but ALL AGES! ! !

FRIDAY Apr 25, 8:00 PM
AT GROTESQUE GALLERY
1932 Echo Park Ave.
Cost : $12

And this Saturday in OAKLAND we will join Viking Moses and Avocet, and also Golden Ghost, and it is also ALL AGES! ! !

SATURDAY APRIL 26TH AT 8PM
WOULDS GALLERY in OAKLAND
5861 san pablo ave
$5 ish

AND
for this occasion Dave Wilson is building a giant indoor tent that will womb not only you and me, but some of his drawings as well. Keep up with that at ribbonsribbons.blogspot.com

With devotion and yes impossible expectation,

p.s.:

You can sneak listen a few tracks from the new record at myspace.com/snowblink. We recorded it in Mammoth Lakes, Sacramento, San Francisco, Toronto, Brooklyn, and LA with the help of recording engineer Jay Pellicci and mixing engineer Thom Monahan.

Pupping

That's what I watched seals doing the other day on a sunny sandbar in Stinson two days ago. Human-sized fuzz slugs playing doctor.

And you can finally watch us pup LONG LIVE at the end of this very month. Dave Wilson is building an indoor tent in Woulds Gallery in Oakland, and Viking Moses and Meara's solo project, Avocet, will climb into the big top with us for this most festive of births. We're due Saturday, April 26th. If you haven't already done so, send your snail mail address to snowblinksendsregards@gmail.com, and you will receive more details.

But first,
tomorrow night, april 15th, at Li Po Lounge, I'll blow out my own trick candles with 60 Watt Kid, and LA's Shitna and John Thill & Fantastic Magic. It's in Chinatown, so if you can find the restaurant in which my kith and I are eating my birthday dinner in Chinatown, I will give you a free Men of Snowblink Wall Calendar 2008.
9pm
916 Grant Avenue at Washington

With ripe feelings,
Daniela + Snowblink

Daytrotter (rhymes with fey daughter, grey water, spayed otter)

Live recordings of three new songs and one old (but masterfully
re-arranged with Dave and Frank's floor tom fondling) are available
for download today and forever after at this site:

http://www.daytrotter.com/article/1220/snowblink

There is also a hilarious illustration of me. They unwittingly
portrayed my seventh-grade face with uncanny accuracy. If I had my bat mitzvah pictures in san francisco, I would post them, and then you would know.

Let the recordings be sneak previews of LONG LIVE, which will be ready
in about a week's time. The San Francisco release will be in late
April.

With devotion,
